Comment bien choisir ses perles céramique ?

How to choose the right ceramic beads?

Nov 21, 2020admin
First, for those who are not yet familiar with this natural method for improving the quality of tap water, what are ceramic beads?

The ceramic beads known as "EM" are made with pure clay and Effective Microorganisms, fired at very high temperatures (approximately 1000°C). They significantly soften water and prevent chlorine taste as well as limescale buildup.

With EM® Ceramic, the physicochemical balance is restored and water quality improves. It modifies the structure of limescale crystals, meaning that limescale (calcium accumulation) adheres less and remains suspended. In its normal state in water, limescale is present as large, irregular crystals (calcium carbonate) that have a strong adhesive power, hence the limescale deposits. EM® Ceramic Apothecary allows these crystals to dissociate and transform into nano-crystals (smaller), which thus lose their ability to adhere to the surfaces of your electrical appliances. In water, what we call limescale is actually calcium carbonate -CaCO3- (composed, among other things, of calcium and magnesium). Water is an important dietary supplement, providing the body with calcium (a healthy adult needs 900 to 1200 mg of calcium per day). Water therefore contributes to this daily intake, and it is therefore important that limescale is not completely eliminated.

Ceramic beads are primarily used to improve the quality of tap water and eliminate the unpleasant chlorine taste it sometimes has. Simply leave them in the bottom of your carafe or other container. Water quality will improve after 30 minutes (the time will depend on the quality of your tap water).

Unlike most water purification solutions, EM® Ceramic Beads don't act as a mechanical filter but work directly on the water's structure through a biological reaction. And since they last 10 years, there's no filter to change, making them the perfect zero-waste alternative to eliminating the consumption of bottled water.

The beads can also be used for their anti-limescale action in kettles and coffee makers to prevent limescale buildup, but also in washing machines, dishwashers, or toilet cisterns.

Finally, and more surprisingly, you can place the ceramic beads in a vase, refrigerator or fruit basket to prolong the life of plants.

To be effective, the ceramic must be enriched with Effective Microorganisms during manufacturing; the beads are then certified EM®. EM® Apothecary Ceramic Beads are all identical in shape, size, and composition. However, their quantity and packaging have been adapted according to their use. It is therefore strongly advised to follow the quantities indicated for each use: 25 beads for a kettle, 15 beads for a carafe (up to 1.5 liters), etc.

For larger containers (up to +/- 3 liters), there is a 4cm x 4cm EM® Ceramic Flower, which is more practical and very pretty!

To prevent limescale buildup in the toilet bowl, simply place a 35mm ceramic tube at the bottom of the cistern. This will help keep your toilet clean while reducing the use of chemicals.

No special maintenance is required. However, if a light film appears, simply rub them in hot water (if necessary with a little soap or white vinegar), rinse them well and let them dry.
